Three York County law enforcement officers who were shot while responding to a domestic violence call last month were honored Sunday during a Winthrop Eagles game.

Winthrop Athletics held their First Responders Appreciation Day on Sunday, honoring York County Sheriffs’ Sgt. Buddy Brown, Sgt. Randy Clinton and York Police Department’s Sgt. Kyle Cummings.

All three law enforcement officers were shot while searching for domestic violence suspect Christian McCall last month. Police said McCall reportedly ambushed the officers while they were searching for him overnight in a wooded area near his house.

A fourth law enforcement member, Det. Micheal Doty, was shot during the incident and tragically died in the hospital.
