Woman wanted for murder after man’s body found in woods near Crowder’s Mountain


GASTON COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — The Gaston County Police Department is searching for a woman who is wanted for first-degree murder after the body of a 28-year-old man was discovered in the woods last week. 

Doris Maribel Alvarado-Peraza, 27, is wanted for the murder of Miguel Angel Valle Romero, 28, of Charlotte. Peraza’s last known address was 1400 Kentland Ln. Apt. 4 in Charlotte. 

Romero’s body was discovered by a man and his child around 12:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 while they were riding their ATV in the woods in the Mallard Crossing neighborhood off Crowders Creek Rd. near Crowders Mountain State Park.

A blood stain, roughly 20-yards long, was found near the crime scene. Police said the area where Romero was found is a paved road that has yet to be developed with houses. 

The man who found Romero’s body told FOX 46 Charlotte it looked like he “was dumped.”
