CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) — Police are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted a woman Monday in south Charlotte.
The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Murrayhill Road.
Neighbors are terrified to learn about the assault.
“It’s very scary. Never before have I heard of an attack like this,” said one woman who lives in the neighborhood.
“For somebody to be that brazen to attack a girl in front of all these houses, it actually scares me a lot, and I’m afraid to go walking now at night, especially by myself.”
The victim was walking down the street when the suspect came up on foot and forcibly fondled her, according to a police report filed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. She suffered bruises and scratches, police said.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
