Wanted York County man arrested after stand-off with Lexington County deputies

A man wanted by York County authorities surrendered to Lexington County, SC deputies after a stand-off at a Red Roof Inn in Lexington, SC early Sunday morning.

Deputies say James Slaton, 29, who was wanted for Grand Larceny received a tip that he was at the Red Roof Inn in Lexington Saturday evening. When deputies attempted to make contact with Slaton he refused to come out of the room. He then made threats to harm himself & law enforcement before ending talks with deputies. 

A tactical team and negotiators were then dispatched to the hotel to attempt contact with Staton, also several nearby rooms were evacuated. Slaton eventually started talking to negotiators and surrendered to deputies. He was arrested and taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.
