Two cars strike, kill pedestrian in west Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A person has died after being hit by two cars on Billy Graham Pkwy. in west Charlotte early Saturday morning.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, around 3:46 am they responded to the 3800 block of Billy Graham Pkwy. at the intersection of Morris Field Dr., where they located a Dodge Charger that had struck a pedestrian.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing the road in front of the Dodge Charger when they were struck, and then came to rest in the middle lane of Billy Graham Pkwy. A light colored Cadillac that was traveling in the middle lane then ran over the pedestrian and quickly swerved into the right lane when a Ford Fusion rear ended the Cadillac. The driver of the Ford Fusion immediately stopped but the Cadillac fled the scene.

Police are investigating to see if speed or alcohol contributed to the crash. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and the intersection has no pedestrian signals. Anyone that may have information on the light colored Cadillac with possible rear end damage is asked to call Detective Reibold at 704-432.2169.
