Tega Cay mom charged with death of infant after narcotics found in body

TEGA CAY, S.C. (FOX 46) — According to the Tega Cay Police Department, Abigial Madden has been charged with the death of her newborn baby.

Back on February 1st, Tega Cay police responded to 27035 Fahleh Cove just before 1:30 p.m. after the baby was born. Less than two hours later the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The press release goes onto say after further investigation the baby passed away from a combination or exsanguination caused by a ripped umbilical cord and narcotics.

It was later determined the mother was under the influence of narcotics as well and failed to disclose that information.

Madden is charged with homicide by child abuse and unlawful conduct toward a child.
