Suspect robs Dollar General at gunpoint in Fort Mill

FORT MILL, SC (FOX 46 WJZY) — The Fort Mill Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a local Dollar General store at gunpoint Monday morning. 

The armed robbery happened at 8:53 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20 at the Dollar General located at 1346 Highway 160 East. 

Two employees told police that a man entered the store, presented a handgun and demanded cash. Upon complying with his demands, the employees were forced into a room at the rear of the store, at which time the man fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money.

The employees then called police, and remained within the room until their arrival. Neither of the employees were hurt during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6’0″ tall, weighing 200-220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and baseball cap, khaki pants, black and white athletic style shoes, and appeared to be 30-35 years of age.

Police said he apparently left the scene in a gray/silver sedan. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Mill Police Dept. at (803) 547-3940.
