CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Several schools have issued delays or closings Tuesday morning due to chilly temperatures.
Mitchell County Schools are operating on a three-hour delay and Watauga County Schools are operating on a two-hour delay.

Avery County Schools had originally issued a three-hour delay but then announced that school would be closed Tuesday.
Ashe County High School said their district will be operating on a two-hour delay due to water problems at the middle school.

A large portion of the state experienced severe weather on Sunday. Several schools issued delays or closings on Monday after strong storms hit the area.
