A North Carolina man is facing charges in connection to a video on Facebook that showed a baby smoking marijuana.

Allan Maldonado, 18, of Raleigh, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a child and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, WTVD reports.

The child’s mother, 20-year-old Brianna Lofton, was arrested last week after Raleigh police were made aware of the video.

The 10-second video showed the hand of an adult off-screen holding what appeared to be a cigarillo to the child’s lips. The child then appeared to inhale and puff smoke.

The incident happened sometime between Dec. 1, 2017, and Jan. 31, 2018, according to arrest warrants. The baby was a year old at the time.

A copy of the video that received more than 1.5 million views was posted by a user who urged the mother’s arrest.

Lofton was charged with two counts of felony child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $100,000.

According to WRAL, Maldonado was taken to Wake County Detention Center and expected to appear in court Wednesday at 2 p.m.
