SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord Aquarium announced the arrival of their newest turtle, Fuji! The radiated tortoise comes to the area from Brookfield Zoo in Illinois.

At only 22 years, Fuji is young by radiated tortoise standards, with the species typically living to be 188 years old. Calling SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord home only for the duration of 2018, Fuji is a part of the attraction’s Limited Time Turtle Shelter Exhibit.

Guests are invited to visit him at his new bamboo-filled abode along with five other turtles, including Australian Snake-necked, Common Snapper, Leopard Tortoise and Diamondback Terrapin.

“It’s an honor to bring such a special experience to our guests. Radiated tortoises are not common, and the chance to see them up close and personal is one that we hope our visitors will remember for years to come,” said Whitney Kemmerick, marketing manager of SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord.
