GASTONIA, NC (FOX 46) — Gastonia Police arrested a man wanted for murder in Cherokee County, SC Tuesday morning.
Police received a Crime Stoppers tip for Terence Dion Studyvance who was living under an assumed name in Gastonia.
“After a check of two apartments on Weldon Street, the subject was not located,” Capt. Mike Lari said. “People living there were surprised but confirmed the man who had been living there was the same person wanted for murder. The information from Cherokee was that he was armed and dangerous. There were two small children in the apartments we checked so we evacuated as many people as we could from the apartments.”
A Sergeant found Studyvance walking in the area of East Division Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. He was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Gaston County Jail. He will have to be extradited back to Cherokee County, according to police.
