CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — The Queen City is preparing for the ACC Football Championship Game this weekend at Bank of America Stadium. Thousands of Clemson fans and Miami faithful will pour in Charlotte on Friday for Saturday’s big game.
This Saturday the ACC Championship is back at Bank of America Stadium. The Clemson Tigers are sitting pretty as the #1 team in college football, riding 11 and 1 right now, and hoping for another run at the national Championship.
But first they have to get passed the Miami Hurricanes who are a couple of steps behind at #7 with a record of 10-1.
Folks can expect Tiger fans to take over as the hometown Carolina fans show wup with Clemson Pride. Also coming to Charlotte for the first time ever, ESPN College Game Day.
ESPN College game Day will be hosted inb Romare Bearden Park Saturday morning.
The ACC Championship is back in the Queen City after last years little detour when the conference moved the big game to Florida last minute because of the bathroom bill blow-up, and the lack of progress made in House Bill 2.
The ACC made moves to bring big college sports events back to the Tar Heel state after House Bill 2 was repealed. As of right now, the ACC Championship will stay in Charlotte, bound by a contract that runs through 2020.
