Police: Woman found shot outside home in Shelby


SHELBY, NC — A woman was shot and killed overnight Saturday, according to Salisbury Police.

Officers were called about 1:12 a.m. to the 200 block of 11th street about assisting the fire department with an assault.

Police said they found the victim, April Cora-Lucille Hall, 40 of Spencer, outside a vacant residence with a gunshot wound.

Spencer was taken to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. She passed away as a result of her injury, police said.

Authorities are looking for searching for the suspect.
