Police seek to identify suspect in Metro PCS armed robbery


Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Wanted Suspect 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say robbed a local Metro PCS store at knife-point Saturday afternoon. 

The armed robbery happened at 1:06 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Metro PCS located at 2621 Westerly Hills Drive. 

According to police the suspect entered the business and made casual conversation with the employees. He then grabbed an employee and pulled out a knife and tried to cut the employee, police said. 

The suspect began to demand money from the register. Once he got cash, the suspect ran away from the store, employees told CMPD. 

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, and was last seen wearing a long sleeve red shirt with light blue jeans. He was also wearing a black beanie with writing and gold rimmed sunglasses. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or 911.
