Police search for man in First Citizens Bank robbery

The Granite Falls Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say robbed a local bank. 

The incident happened at 12:35 p.m. Monday, October 3 at the First Citizens Bank located at 45 Falls Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers obtained a description of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’0” tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing shorts, a purple sweat shirt, a red or orange baseball style hat and sun glasses.

According to witnesses, the man entered and exited the front door of the bank. After demanding money, he left the bank and was last seen running toward Al’s Diner, east on Falls Ave. Investigators believe the man left the area in a vehicle.

Officers from the Granite Falls Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir Police Department, and the NC Highway Patrol assisted in the response and investigation.
