Police release photos of suspect in University area parking garage sex assault

CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Charlotte Mecklenburg Police say they are searching for a suspect in a University area sexual assault that took place on Sunday.

Police say around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4 officers responded to the 8900 block of University City Blvd. in reference to a sexual assault on a woman.

Upon arrival, the victim told officers that an unknown suspect pushed her against the wall of a parking garage and forcibly fondled her. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

CMPD detectives were able to obtain photos of the suspect, who is described as a black man, approximately 20-years-old, 5’9” tall with a thin build and medium complexion.

University City Officers are continuing to increase patrols in the apartment complexes and near the campus following two other sexual assault sin the area.
