Police: Pedestrian seriously injured after hit by car in uptown


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — A pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries after they were struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning in uptown, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. 

The accident happened just before 6:40 a.m. Thursday, April 4 at the intersection of E Stonewall Street and S Caldwell Street. 

According to CMPD, a vehicle struck a pedestrian and drove away from the scene before emergency personnel arrived. Medic tells FOX 46 Charlotte that the pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

FOX 46 Charlotte has reached out to CMPD for more information regarding the hit-and-run driver.
