Police: No charges for driver after woman hit by tractor-trailer in Gastonia

GASTONIA, NC (FOX 46) — The Gastonia Police Department says they will not fill charges against a drive who hit a pedestrian Thursday night.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian struck in the 2500 block North Chester Street on Thursday at 9:18 p.m.

Cindy Lynn Beam, 41, walked into the path of a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck heading southbound on North Chester Street.

Beam suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center. 

The GPD Traffic Enforcement Bureau is investigating the collision.
