Police: Missing woman, 8-year-old found safe in Missouri

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced Wednesday a south Charlotte woman who went missing with her 8-year-old daughter have been found safe in Franklin County, Missouri. 

Police said the mother, Megan Lori Stack, 33, went to an EMS station outside of St. Louis on Wednesday and asked to be taken to the hospital to be evaluated. 

A Silver Alert was issued for Stack on Tuesday after she disappeared with her 8-year-old daughter, Ava Stack, on Monday afternoon. 

Authorities said they’re now working to reunite Ava with other family members.

Police said Stack had picked up her daughter from Bain Elementary School at 4:30 p.m. Monday, but never brought her home.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Megan on Tuesday, meaning they believed she was in danger and suffering from some kind of cognitive impairment.
