CONCORD, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot and killed Thursday afternoon in Concord, police said. The man has been identified as Deshawn Tatem, 39.
The shooting happened around 1:00 p.m. at Sarah’s Pet Spa along Winecoff School Road between Shady Lane and Orphanage Road, Thursday, November 30.
Police were told that the incident started off as a verbal dispute between two people who knew each other when Tatem was shot. He died on scene of what appeared to be a single gunshot wound.
One witness told FOX 46 Charlotte she heard screaming before shots rang out.

Winecoff Road was closed on Thursday as police investigated.
Concord police said they have interviewed all known witnesses and the person they believe is responsible for shooting Tatem. No charges have been filed at this time.
