CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) — A protester was arrested during the sixth night of demonstrations in Charlotte after the group he was with attempted to block Interstate 277, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
On Sunday, September 25 at about 5:30 p.m., a number of protesters got onto the interstate and then began to run as officers approached.
While running away from officers, one of the protesters, identified as Donnell Jones, 26 of Missouri, fell in front of an ATV being operated by an officer from the Greensboro Police Department, police said.
The officer was unable to avoid colliding with Jones and ended up striking him in the arm.
Jones was not injured according CMPD and was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resit, obstruct and delay.
