Police ID man killed following domestic assault in south Charlotte


CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Police have identified a man who died following a domestic assault Friday morning in south Charlotte.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers were called about 3:42 a.m. for a domestic-related assault in the 400 block of Mountain view Drive in the Sardis Forest neighborhood when they found the man. He taken to Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews where he was later pronounced deceased. 

The man has been identified as 59-year-old Joseph Henry Grosjean. His family has been notified of his death.

The death likely occurred as a result of an altercation between family members present in the home, according to investigators. 

No arrests have been made so far. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. Detective Helms is the lead detective assigned to the case.
