Police arrest suspect in violent armed robbery at Lowell mini mart


LOWELL, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Police have arrested the man behind a violent attack at a Lowell mini mart last month. 

Officials say Deonte Brice is facing charges in connection with the violent armed robbery. Brice was already in jail on an unrelated sex offender charge, jail records showed. 

Brice was caught on camera pistol whipping the clerk at the Mini Mart, located at 719 McAdenville Road, and her son on January 27. At one point the video showed Brice pointing the gun at the clerk’s 4-year-old grandson.

Brice has been charged with the following: Robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiring to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to seriously injure, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The getaway driver, Dustin Bingham was taken into custody Tuesday.
