MATTHEWS, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — A man was left on the streets at 3:00 a.m. when an armed robber forced him out of his car.
A Matthews officer was flagged down while on patrol by a man walking on foot. The victim stated he was robbed of his car at gunpoint on the exit ramp of the I-485 outer loop to E. John St.
The victim was sitting at a red light when a truck pulled up behind him. The passenger got out and pointed a gun at the driver demanding him to get out of the car. The victim complied as the suspect got in and drove off.
The suspect describes as a white male, drove through the red light across E. John St. and back onto the I-485 outer loop. The truck followed behind. The driver of the truck is also unknown at this time. The truck is a white pickup truck, make and model is unknown.
The stolen vehicle is a brown, 2005 Jeep Liberty with a North Carolina registration plate number of PKJ-2427, similar to the photo attached.
