Mooresville police search for bank robbery suspect


Mooresville police are searching for a bank robber and the getaway car he left in. 

MOORESVILLE, NC (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — Police in Mooresville are searching for a bank robbery suspect.

Around 2:20 p.m. on Monday, May 6, a robbery was reported at the First Citizens Bank at 241 Medical Park Road. Mooresville and Huntersville police responded, and bank employees told them that a man came into the building and handed a note to a teller demanding cash. 

Police say no weapon was displayed, and the suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash. He’s described as a black man wearing green camo pants, a red hoodie and oversized sunglasses. 

He fled the scene in the passenger side of an aqua green/blue sedan, possibly an older model Toyota Avalon, and was last seen travelling on Fairview Road towards Highway 115. The car is damaged on the right front panel, has five-star rims and a temporary South Carolina dealership tag. 

Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information about the suspect or the getaway car is asked to call Detective crow with the Mooresville Police Department at 704-664-3311.
