ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A missing 4-month-old infant from Alexander County has been found safe in West Virginia, authorities announced on Thursday. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office was looking for a missing Taylorsville woman and her 4-month-old infant daughter this week.

Deputies said they discovered Brandi Risden and her 4-month-old child were missing after they tried to serve an arrest warrant Tuesday on Risden’s boyfriend, Carl Lee Dotson, at his home on Lindsey Bebber Road.

Dotson, 48, was charged with failing to appear in Alexander County Superior Court for charges of assault inflicting serious injury and assault by strangulation.

The sheriff’s office said they have not been able to locate Dotson, Risden or the infant.

Previous domestic incidents at the address led Risden to take out a protection order against Dotson, according to the sheriff’s office.

Dotson, Risden, and the child were last seen in a burgundy 1995 Dodge pickup with North Carolina license plate FAN-3221, the sheriff’s office said. Anyone with information is asked to call Lt. Jason Moore with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
