Missing 10-year-old found safe

LANCASTER COUNTY, SC (FOX 46 WJZY) — UPDATE: Dequarrius has been found safe and is being reunited with his parents, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. Thank you to everyone for sharing!


The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing Indian Land 10-year-old they say got off the school bus, but never returned home.

Dequarrius Whitted was last seen around 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Deputies say Dequarrius attends Harrisburg Elementary school and is believed to have gotten off school bus number four at his usual stop near his home.

Dequarrius lives on Salud Lane in the Arlington Subdivision in Indian Land. He is a black male, stands four feet tall and weighs 60 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a white shirt, khaki pants, a black or dark jacket, and blue and white Nike shoes.  

The public is urged to call 911 or the below numbers if the child is spotted.
