Man with 21 warrants arrested after cutting off electronic monitoring device

A man with multiple warrants out for his arrest was taken into custody in west Charlotte on Friday.

Police say the suspect had cut his electronic monitoring device off on Thursday, and had 21 warrants out for his arrest.

As police were attempting to take the suspect into custody, he was seen driving erratically, striking at least two cars before wrecking on Billy Graham Pkwy near Boyer St.

The suspect was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, and will be transported to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center.
