A man whose car was riddled with bullets during a drive-by shooting Monday on Interstate-85 has been arrested on drug and weapons charges, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Dawan Evans, 32, has been charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon on I-85 northbound near I-77. Officers said they found Evans inside his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators believe another car pulled up along-side Evans’ vehicle and started shooting.
