Man wanted, woman charged in attempted kidnapping in Burke County


BURKE COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A man is wanted and a woman has been charged in connection to the attempted kidnapping of a woman in Burke County, deputies said. 

On Monday, Nov. 20, deputies were called to 2676 Lot 122, Timmerill Mobile Home Park on US Highway 18/64 in Morganton in reference to a possible kidnapping. 

Upon arrival, investigators interviewed witnesses, processed the scene, and were able to obtain video footage that lead to arrest warrant being issued for Marcus Allen Richard Whisnant, 20, of Lenoir, and Krisie Melissa Parrish, 29, of Lenoir, for the kidnapping of 21-year-old Taylor Kirby. 

Police said Kirby is the ex-girlfriend of Whisnant. She sustained minor injuries during the attempted kidnapping but is OK. 

The Lenoir Police Department was able to take Parrish into custody on Tuesday. She was given a secured bond of $125,000. 

Police are still looking for Whisnant. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at (828) 437-3333.
