Man wanted in hit-and-run involving North Carolina trooper


ROWAN COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — North Carolina State Highway Patrol (SHP) is asking for help in locating a driver involved in a hit-and-run involving a trooper that happened last November in Rowan County.

Officials say at about 1:29 a.m. November 19, 2017, a 2005 Dodge pickup traveled left of center while merging onto NC 152 west from US 29, striking a SHP patrol car.  The trooper was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the pickup fled on foot and was not located.

Authorities have identified the driver of the pickup as William Pierre Hargrave, 21, of Salisbury. Hargrave is facing charges of felony hit-and-run, driving with a revoked driver license, resisting a public officer and reckless driving to endanger.
