CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — A man was transported to the hospital after police said he was shot while standing on a porch at a home just outside of uptown Monday night.
The shooting occurred at 9:46 p.m. Monday, May 27 in the 700 block of Rayon Street.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the victim and a witness were standing on a porch at a home when the suspect walked up the street, a man, and shot multiple rounds into the house.
The victim, also a man, was taken to CMC-Main for non-life threatening injuries, police said. A K-9 Unit attempted to track the suspect but was unsuccessful. So far, no arrest has been made.
Police said an occupied house nextdoor was also hit by gunfire. It does not appear that house was intentionally targeted. No one was injured at that home, police said.
This remains an open and ongoing investigation.
