Man shot, killed inside east Charlotte business during attempted robbery


CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A man was shot and killed inside an east Charlotte business during an attempted robbery late Tuesday night, police said. 

The shooting occurred at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the 3100 block of Amity Court.

Upon arrival, CMPD officers located a man inside a business with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead on scene by Medic. 

CMPD said the initial investigation revealed that the man was inside his office located at a business park in the 3100 block of Amity Court when a male suspect entered the business and confronted the victim and a woman when the shooting occurred. 

A CMPD K-9 team attempted to track the suspect with the assistance of their Aviation Unit but he was not located.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.
