Man accused of holding up 7 Charlotte businesses in custody

CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A man wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies in Charlotte was taken into custody Tuesday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. 

 On December 7, police were searching for a man they say entered the Subway in the 4300 block fo Park Road just before 5 p.m. and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect then left the restaurant.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Lucas Hawkinson, was linked to six other armed robberies throughout the city, according to CMPD. 

Hawkinson was charged with seven counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
