Lincolnton police search for missing 12-year-old

The Lincolnton Police Department is searching for a missing 12-year-old boy who they say ran away from home. 

John David Charles is described as a black male, 5’7″ tall, and 130 lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a dark green short sleeve shirt. 

Police said John is known to frequent Betty Ross Park, City Park, the Rail Trail, the library, and the soup kitchen. He is also known to frequent the E. Pine Street, Mauney Drive, and Oaklawn neighborhoods. 

If anyone locates John, you’re asked to call the Lincolnton Police Department at (704) 736-8900 or contact 9-1-1.
