ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — A local man is facing multiple drug charges following a 14-month long investigation by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua Marquis Byrd was taken into custody in Greensboro on Monday, June 24.
Deputies said he is charged with nine counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, two counts of possession of a counterfeit controlled substance, and three counts of possession of methamphetamine.
Byrd was given a $500,000 secured bond. He is currently being held at the Guilford County Detention Center. Byrd has an extensive violent criminal history and is a known gang member, deputies said.
