Homicide investigation underway after 62-year-old woman killed in Salisbury


ROWAN COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A homicide investigation is underway after a 62-year-old woman was discovered dead inside her Salisbury home Monday night, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. 

The woman, identified as Melanie Anita Clark, 62, was found deceased inside her home on Dulin Avenue at 11:18 p.m. Monday, March 26. 

Deputies said they were called to the scene to assist fire and emergency personnel after they were called to the home for “a cardiac arrest.”

Prior to the arrival of deputies, Clark was confirmed deceased. After further investigation by the Sheriff’s Office the death was determined to be “suspicious” and the Criminal Investigative Division was called to assist. Clark’s death has now been determined to be a homicide. 

Deputies said Clark was last known to be alive on Saturday, March 24. Anyone with information pertaining to Clark’s death is asked to call First Lt. Chad Moose or the Criminal Investigative Division of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 216-8700.
