Four arrested in delivery driver robberies

CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested four suspects involved in multiple armed robberies.

Marques Addison, Davonte Carter and two 14-year-old juveniles have been charged, according to police.

On Sunday, October 16, officers responded to 6000 block of Pineburr Road in reference to an armed robbery. The victim told officers that he left Papa John’s to deliver pizza to the address. When he arrived he was approached by two men, one who pulled out a firearm.

The suspects proceeded to demand his property. The victim did not have anything for them to take so the suspects hit him in the face with the firearm, stole the pizza and ran off.

The following day officers responded to the same address for an armed robbery. When officers arrived the victim told them he was delivering Chinese food to the address when two men approached him. The suspects robbed him at gunpoint and left the scene.

On Saturday, October 22, officers responded to the same address again in reference to an armed robbery.

The victim told the officers he was driving a taxi cab for Crown Cab Company when he was sent to the address. The victim said he pulled up in front of the apartment building and made contact with the customer that was waiting out front of the building. The victim advised that he then observed a suspect walking towards him with a gun and pulling a mask over his face. He drove away immediately and the suspect ran off.

On Tuesday, October 25, officers responded to the same area in reference to an armed robbery. The victim advised officers that he works at Chopstick as a delivery driver and was sent to the address to deliver food. The victim told police while he was trying to deliver food, two men approached him and demanded his property at gunpoint. The suspects proceeded to rob him of his property then ran off.

After investigating officers discovered Addison was present at one of the robbery scenes through the use of the electronic monitoring system. 

Addison was interviewed and not long after they were able to identify the other three suspects. 

One of the 14-year-old suspects was charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed robbery and three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The second 14-year-old was charged with three counts of armed robbery and three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Carter was charged with one count of accessory after the fact and Addison was charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and one count of armed robbery.

Addison and Carter were transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. The two 14-year-old suspects were charged as juveniles and taken to the Cabarrus County Juvenile Detention Center.
