Deputies recover nearly 200 stolen items from Burke County couple’s home

MORGANTON, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Two people have been charged in several home robberies in Morganton, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies in Burke County have been investigating several cases of breaking and entering larcenies in the Chesterfield community in Morganton. 

The investigation led deputies to suspect Robert Ford Dale Jr. and Rebecca Lynn Icard. A search warrant was executed at their home at 2786 Pax Hill Rd. where deputies found more than 190 stolen items in and around the home.

The stolen items included a washer and dryer, a welder, a violin, furniture, tool boxes and mechanics’s tools. The items have since been returned to the victims. 

Dale and Icar are currently being held at the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility.   

The investigation is continuing and additional charges expected.
