Couple accused of improperly disposing their dead pets


LENOIR, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Two people have been arrested after police said they improperly disposed of their dead pets. 

Mary Beth Rogers, 33, of Smithville, TN, and Solomon Deprince Norwood, 35, of Lenior NC, are both charged with eight misdemeanor counts of dispose of dead domesticated animals. 

Rogers and Norwood turned themselves in to law enforcement on Wednesday, April 11. Both of their charges come from Caldwell County Animal Control, police said. 

Rogers was released with a written promise to appear in Caldwell County District Court on May 7. Norwood was also given the same court date in District court in Lenior and placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $750 secure bond. 

This investigation remains active and ongoing.
