Convicted felon arrested again on cocaine charges in Iredell County

Charles "Chucky" Edward Mills

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — A Statesville man is in custody after he was arrested again on drug related charges, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Charles “Chucky” Edward Mills, 58, is charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver “crack” cocaine and felony maintaining a dwelling/vehicle or place to sell controlled substance following a month-long investigation, deputies said.

Investigators had received information that Mills was still involved in the distribution of controlled substances from his home. Undercover investigators conducted surveillance at Mills’ home located along Mills Hill Lane in Statesville. They were also able to buy “crack” cocaine from the home.

Deputies said Mills was involved in a similar type of investigation in June 2018 where he and others inside the home were present during a search warrant where “crack” cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, and prescription pills were found inside the home.

In this current investigation, deputies said 5.2 grams of “crack” cocaine and $650 were seized. Mills was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and issued a $20,000 secured bond.
