CMPD: Teen turns self in for April homicide


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — Charlotte Mecklenburg police have a teen in custody in connection to a murder that took place last month. 

Diyondre Wilson, 17, has been charged witih the murder of Derrick Lamar Chambers. Chambers was found shot to death on Saturday, April 6 in the 7200 block of Barrington Drive. 

Another man who was there with him was injured, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Wilson was a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. The teen turned himself in to police on Friday.
