CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — After an anonymous family donated a gift card to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the officers gave back to the community by using the gift card to provide a family with a Thanksgiving meal.

One of the officers was aware of a single mom with four children. The officers decided to bring the family a full holiday meal complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans and an apple pie for dessert.

This isn’t the only way CMPD is spreading some holiday cheer. Their annual toy drive is in full swing and you can help!

The CMPD Explorers Christmas Project allows you to help provide Christmas gifts to less fortunate families. Click here to learn more.
