CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Getting results can be a simple act of kindness, and it’s always welcome, especially from a stranger.
It’s not always expected from a police officer but that’s exactly what happened to a young mom and her daughter who came across a couple of Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers.
While out on a call CMPD officers Adam DeGeorge and Bill Fontaine met mother Triciann and her six-year-old daughter Kellicia who were down on their luck. They had no money, they were hungry and they were about to be evicted from a motel.
“Don’t be sorry for yourself. Use that as a thing to rise up from, and that’s what I’m trying to do right now, use my experience, my mistakes, and rise up from them.”
The officers took mom and daughter to lunch, made a few calls, and by the end of the day got them a hotel room and a fridge stocked with food.
‘We always want to do something, and sometimes you’re just able to do a little more than you thought in the beginning,” said Officer DeGeorge
“Today she saw the officer and she just ran and hugged him, so I could tell from this experience it’s been great for her,” Triciann. Said.
“We do this all the time, every day, every single officer does at some point, so this is not out of the ordinary,” said Officer DeGeorge.
