CMPD: 2 shot in north Charlotte, police investigating

CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after two people were shot at  a north Charlotte gas station.

Around 8:00 p.m. officers responded to a call about a shooting that occurred at the Skye Mart Convenience Store at 3814 Brookshire Blvd. 

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a 16-year-old who had been shot in the leg. He was found on the off-ramp from Interstate-85 where he had run to after being shot. He was taken to the Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

A short time later, another boy, 14, showed up at Presbyterian Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. 

Police say the initial investigation revealed that a car pulled into the store parking lot and several people got out. One of the individuals began firing at another group pf people who were already in the parking lot. 

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 911, or call CrimeStoppers at 704-334-1600.
