Boone Police charge online predator


BOONE, NC (FOX 46) — The Boone Police Department has completed an internet crimes against children operation resulting in the arrest of Benjamin Lindsey Keely, 31.

Keely set up a meeting in Boone, with the intent of exchanging money to have a sexual encounter with a minor female, according to police.

Officers watched Keely travel to the meeting location, walked up to him and started an interview. He was taken into custody before making any physical contact with a minor.

Keely was charged with soliciting a child by computer and soliciting prostitution. His court date is set for December 13 and his conditions of release were set as a $40,000 secured bond.
