Army veteran recovering after attack during Charlotte riot

CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) — A GoFundMe page has raised over $15,000 for a man who was attacked during the Charlotte riot.

David Palmer was attacked by a group of ten men after getting separated from his group, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

The incident happened on 4th street in Uptown, according to his sister.

According to the GoFundMe page, this is Palmer’s first year as a civilian after serving seven years in the United States Army. He has been to three different doctors and will undergo surgery on Monday.

He has a fractured eye socket and multiple broken bones in the face. 

The altercation was caught on video Wednesday, September 21.
