76-year-old missing woman found safe in Gaston Co.

UPDATE: 76-year-old Tin Nguyen has been found safe thanks to the joint efforts of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the York County Sheriff’s Office and Gaston County Police, Fire and EMS.

She is currently at a local hospital and will be reunited with her family soon.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing elderly woman in west Charlotte. 

Tin Nguyen, 76, was initially reported missing from her home at 10530 Wilson Glen Dr. around 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Police recently obtained information indicating that she was dropped off by a cab around 10:30 a.m. at a Shell gas station located at 1651 Bessemer City Rd. in Gastonia.

Police said Nguyen has some memory issues and suffers from Parkinsons, but she is known to take walks.

A Silver Alert has been issued for Nguyen, meaning authorities believe she may be in danger. 

She’s described as an Asian female, 4’11” tall, weighing around 100 pounds. Nguyen was last seen wearing a black jacket. She speaks Vietnamese, police said.
