Three people wanted in connection to an armed robbery have surrendered to police following a barricade situation Friday that lasted nearly three hours in uptown Charlotte, according to CMPD.

They have been identified as Tyrek Brown, 26, Jason Simpson, 19, and Alexus Johnson, 20.

Police said at 3:32 p.m. Friday, October 28 they responded to the 300 block of Graham Street to serve warrants for an armed robbery.

Officers made contact with two of the three wanted, and they were quickly taken into custody. CMPD said the third person barricaded himself inside the apartment.

Members of the SWAT Team and negotiators were called to the scene and set up a perimeter. Residents of the apartment complex were relocated as a precaution.

At 7:26 p.m. Friday the man surrendered to SWAT and was taken into custody.

All three people were transported to CMPD Headquarters. Police said the names of the suspects will be released once they are formally charged. No one was hurt.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.
