2 dead, 2 injured in Huntersville crash

Two people were killed and another two injured during a serious accident that closed roadways Friday evening in Huntersville.

The accident was reported about 3:30 p.m. on Sam Furr Road at Old Statesville Road.

According to Medic, two people were pronounced dead on scene and two other people were also injured. One person was taken to CMC with life-threatening injuries. Another person was taken to Novant Huntersville with minor injuries.

It’s unclear at this time what caused the accident.

The crash closed Sam Furr Road and Old Statesville Road for several hours. Traffic had to be diverted in all directions. The roads have since been reopened, according to Huntersville Fire Department.
